It was only a couple decades ago when accessing the internet meant dialing a number while making sure no-one else was using the telephone at the same time. While countries like New Zealand, Australia, China, and India have decommissioned dial-up services, it might surprise some that North America is possibly the only place on Earth that still uses dial-up - to the tune of hundreds of thousands of households. 

Corey is joined by Mark Price and Ben Grubbs from The Serial Port to discuss this question and their YouTube series as they create their own Dial-Up Internet Service Provider with genuine hardware from the 1990s.
