Most of us would consider it a huge achievement to climb Mt Taranaki just once. Danny Roguski from Opunake wants to reach the top of the 2518-metre-high mountain 100 times in one year. He started the challenge on January first and has reached the summit 97 times. Once he hits the 100 mark, he'll join an exclusive group called the Mt Taranaki Summit Club. No one has achieved 100 summits for more than 20 years

Bees are hard at work across Auckland pollinating our summer crops and making beautiful honey. There is one apiarist or bee keeper in particular, who is helping to encourage Aucklanders into keeping hives on their properties. Kerry McCurdy builds hives at Mangere Bridge property and regularly holds seminars across the region, teaching people the art of beekeeping. And Kerry has even created a special bench hive, which is proving very popular.
