1:25 No more medium rare burgers
New MPI rules prohibit restaurants from grilling medium-rare burgers.
It means minced meat and liver needs to be cooked at high temperatures for a longer amount of time than previously.
And yesterday there were reports the Duke of Marlborough hotel in Russell has stopped serving its famous burger.
Mimi Gilmour is the owner of Burger Burger, an Auckland burger chain that advertises their burgers "medium rare unless requested".
And she is not happy with the changed rules.

Two women have created a network to connect disabled Aucklanders in an environment they are comfortable with. Sarah Ward and Diane Morris have founded Flourishing Friendships in order to connect those with disabilities and co-ordinate social gatherings and outings around the city. Both women have had an interest in the disabled care sector and realised there was something missing for the people with disabilities which led to the creation of Flourishing Friendships. Co-founder Diane Morris talks to Jesse about how popular the network is.
