1:20 Looking behind what's changed the latest political polls 

A TVNZ/Kantar political poll has shown the National Party ahead of Labour for the first time in two years. 

The poll has National up 7 points to 39% and Labour down 3 to 37% - their lowest result since they took office.

Ben Thomas is a PR consultant and a former National Government press secretary. He talks to Jesse about the numbers and what's driving the change.

An impromptu performance while she was enjoying a glass of bubbles in her own back yard got Janine Russell thinking that a small scale concert series might help musicians get back in front of audiences.

She talks to Jesse about the 'bring your own pillow' events she's organised for the coming weeks with suburban back yards being the back drop for musicians to perform (All within red light COVID rules too.)

1:40 Hollyford Valley pest eradication project showing signs of success 

After at least six years of conservation work, predator numbers are down in the Hollyford Valley of Piopiotahi and the native birdlife is flourishing.

Ngāi Tahu Tourism operate a four day guided walk through the area, and work closely with the Hollyford Conservation Trust.

Last night was an historic moment for New Zealand sport when women's domestic competition Super Rugby Aupiki kicked off its inaugural season in Hamilton.

The players have rightly been getting most of the attention but the woman blowing the whistle has her own interesting story.  Maggie Cogger-Orr talks to Jesse about making history herself.

This week’s critter is ‘A pleasing fungus beetle’,  a secretive and endangered beetle from Rangiauria in the Chatham Islands.

We don’t know much about the pleasing fungus beetle, Cryptodacne rangiauria, except that it lives quietly out of sight under tree bark, munching on fungi.
