There's a global race to become leaders in quantum technology with billions being invested worldwide. New Zealand, who are pioneers in the field, are contributing at top level to the race. The Dodd Walls Centre's aim is to train a workforce competent in quantum technology who can grow high value industries that provide jobs, attract smart young people and contribute to creating tomorrow's life-changing technologies. Professor Ian Walmsley heads of one of the UK's new multi-million dollar Quantum Technology Hubs, and he's in Dunedin speaking at the centre's annual symposium.
