Has your iPhone been giving you the dreaded warning that your storage is almost full and you can't save anymore?
You're not alone, says tech expert Paul Brislen. He talks to Jesse Mulligan about what's going on.
Part of the problem is that apps themselves are getting really large – on average 11 times bigger than they were three years ago, Brislen says.
Secondly, Apple doesn't make it easy to manage data storage on an iPhone.
The company now make as much money from their services such as iCloud as they do from hardware so iPhone users are given five free gigs of storage there.
But what users aren't given is the option of picking and choosing what they want to save – you have to choose wholesale whether to save or not save photos and documents.
"So you end up storing, presumably, copy after copy of the same cat video that you really don't need to store at all."
Brislen suggests looking at how much of your storage capacity you're using in your iPhone settings.
Start by looking at the apps which are taking up the most space and culling the ones you don't use.
