There have been many famous trials in our history but only a few that have become part of our cultural consciousness.
Two such trials from different eras in our history are; Minnie Dean's trial (1895) and Arthur Allan Thomas' trials (1971/73). These are two of New Zealand's most famous trials and each one has had a major impact on NZ culture.
Victoria University historian Grant Morris looks back on these trials and explore what makes them so important.
