When you think 'coleslaw' do you picture the "heavy, overdressed creamy stuff you'd get at a supermarket"?
Coleslaw is really underrated, says Jess Daniell of Jess' Underground Kitchen.
She makes a case for coleslaw with three slaw recipes – one flavoured with orange & poppyseed, one Middle Eastern-inspired and one Asian inspired.
Coleslaw works well with different layers of texture as well as different flavours, Jess says.
Seeds and nuts are good, and also peanut butter or almond butter in the dressing adds a pleasant richness.
Throw some finely sliced fruit in there, too – Jess recommends oranges, stone fruit, apple and pear.
