Talented young singer Reupena Kilipati, aka Samoan Cowboy, says his English wasn't good when he started at Mangere College but this year he finished Year 13 with a string of music awards and a scholarship to Auckland University.
He hopes to popularise the genre in Aotearoa, especially amongst Pasifika people.
Reupena tells Jesse Mulligan he's had good feedback for his two music videos currently online - covers of 'Tryin' to Get Over You' by Vince Gill and 'Forever and Ever, Amen' by Randy Travis.
