Cockroaches are one of the least-loved critters in the world but not all roaches are disease-infested household invaders. Te Pāpapa Pango is one of 21 cockroaches native to Aotearoa. It might kick up a stink when disturbed (its other name is the Black Stinkroach) but it prefers life outside in the leaf litter of our forests and gardens.
