Renewed push for reform of alcohol legislation in NZ

From Afternoons, 1:18 pm on 16 August 2021

Alcohol Action NZ is urging the government to take on its 5+ solution to deal with the harm caused by alcohol in society. That solution includes dismantling alcohol marketing, increasing the price of alcohol, reducing accessibility, raising the purchase age, and strengthen drink driving measures, as well as increasing treatment opportunities for heavy drinkers.

Alcohol Action NZ is holding a major conference this Wednesday as part of its push for action.

We speak to one of the keynotes speakers, Professor Jennie Connor from Otago University's Department of Preventive and Social Medicine.
