Alcohol means skin burns faster in the sun

Dermatologists are warning that drinking alchohol can cause your skin to burn faster when exposed to the sun.

Research has found a 20 percent increase in melanoma for those who drank alcohol compares to those who don't drink, or drink on occassion.

New Zealand has the world's second highest rate of melanoma - and one New Zealander dies from this form of cancer every day.

Dermatologist Dr Niyati Sharma, talks to Karyn about what the research has uncovered.
