The long-awaited launch of the James Webb Space Telescope has been delayed by bad weather.

It's now set to launch on Boxing Day.

The 10 billion dollar successor to the Hubble Space Telescope has been in development for three decades and is a collaboration between NASA and the European and Canadian space agencies.

Astronomer and Associate Professor Jan J. Eldridge is the Head of the Physics department at the University of Auckland, and is looking forward to what this telescope will show us. She speaks to Karyn.
