There were high hopes of a world record in Hamilton after a couple discovered a 7.9kg tuber 'Dug the Spud'.
However, those hopes have now been dashed.
DNA testing has confirmed that Dug is in fact a 'tuber type of gourd.'
But far from being disheartened Dug's owner, Colin Craig-Brown, has big plans for this Not-Potato.
