Truth isn't the first casualty of war. Disinformation, propaganda and downright lies often fly way before bullets do. When Russia invaded the Crimea region of Ukraine 8 years ago, journalist Olga Yurkova and her colleagues started fighting a battle against disinformation from the Kremlin. She's the co-founder of Stopfake.org, an independent group of journalists and fact checkers working to curb propaganda.They counter false stories that attempt to justify the recent invasion of Ukraine. Olga Yurkova has been forced to flee Kyiv, but continues to fight the war of words and disinformation in both Ukraine and Russia.
