The man who is thought to have invented chicken tikka masala has died this week.
Ali Ahmed Aslam moved to Scotland as a teenager and opened his restaurant Shish Mahal in Glasgow in 1964.
The story goes, in the early 1970's a customer complained their chicken tikka was too dry.
So Mr Ali, as he was affectionately known, pulled together a quick curry sauce with some Campbells tomato soup which he'd been eating while suffering a stomach ulcer.
And now Tikka masala is a common staple on many Indian restaurant menus, but many people don't realise if was invented in Scotland in the 70's!
