This week’s critter is the sleek and powerful or large black hunting wasp (Priocnemis monachus) that specialises in hunting some of our largest spiders. Once it has subdued its arachnid prey, it drags it back to its nest and lays an egg on top of it. When the baby wasps hatch, they burrow into the spider’s body and start eating.
