Whitinga ora pēpi at a big help for newborns needing extra care

A neonatal unit called Whitinga ora pēpi was opened at the end of 2021 by Starship children's hospital and Te Toka Tumai.

The unit is the first of its kind in New Zealand,designed for babies who are in need of extra care, but not intensive care.

Co-Charge Midwife Rebecca Clark explains how successful the unit has been.
