It's been a month since Cyclone Gabrielle tore through parts of the North Island, causing widespread devastation.

In a show of support for cyclone-battered residents, the New Zealand Army Band has done something a little special.

It's performed a heartfelt version of Ka Hao and Rob Ruha's award-winning song "35" - which celebrates State Highway 35 around East Cape - and dedicated it to everyone affected by the cyclone.

Lance Corporal Cameron Burnett talks to Jesse about why they've made their version of the song.
