A musician as lauded for his singing and songwriting abilities as his skill behind a piano, he put out hit after hit in the 1970s and 80s. His songs spanned from heartfelt ballads to upbeat pop tunes that never leave your head. And his consistency led him to become one of the best-selling musicians of all time.
