Every new drug that promises a breakthrough treatment for cancer or indigestion first has to undergo clinical trials. But mistakes in the data, bias and even out right fraud have infected medical research says Richard Van Noorden. He's an editor for the journal Nature. For more than 10 years, he's been reporting on paper mills that churn out manufactured study results on an industrial scale. Van Noorden joins us to talk about the problem and what can be done about it.
