An estimated 753,000 New Zealanders live with migraines but despite their prevalence, there is surprisingly little known about their cause, and how best to treat them.

Yesterday, neurologist Dr Ray Bose spoke to Nine to Noon's Kathryn Ryan about drug and non-drug treatments for migraines.

Today we speak to Dr Fiona Imlach about her just published study looking into how Kiwis are managing their migraines - and its not a pretty picture.
