How you can use the past to navigate the present

From Afternoons, 3:10 pm on 10 September 2024

Think historically, act with the future in mind. Insights from history can be empowering says Oxford University social philosopher Roman Krznaric. Too often, he says, we suffer from the tyranny of now and look to technology to solve our modern problems like climate change and overzealous artificial intelligence.

Krznaric takes a different approach in a new book that takes a trip through the social innovations of the past to navigate the present. It's called History for Tomorrow: Inspiration from the Past for the Future of Humanity.

Roman is wearing a blue shirt (possibly linen), sitting in front of a plant, and looking straight at the camera.
