International genre-bender comes home

From Afternoons, 1:35 pm today

Mark de Clive-Lowe is a truly global artist with deep roots in both New Zealand and Japan.

He is a composer, pianist, beatmaker, and DJ whose career spans three decades.

Known for his genre-blending approach to jazz, hip-hop and electronic music, Mark's performances are a seamless fusion of live remixing and traditional jazz elements.

With over 20 albums to his name, he continues to push musical boundaries, and is set to perform at Somethin' Else - A Weekend of Jazz, part of the Auckland Live Summer in the Square, on the 15th and 16th of February.

Mark joins Jesse today live from Tokyo.

Mark De Clive lowe is wearing a white shirt and black robe. The robe makes him look sort of like a cross between a priest and a Harry Potter character. He ls leaning on what looks to be a wooden fence and looking at the camera. You can only see the top of the fence so it's possible that it's actually a bridge. This is backed up by the idea there appears to be a similar wooden railing about a bridge width behind him, Behind whatever it is is some soft focus nature.
