Tracing Abel Tasman's first contact with Maori
Gerco Hiddink and his partner are graphic designers from eastern Holland. They've taken two months off from their graphic design company for an extended holiday in Golden Bay, where Dutch explorer Able Tasman put down anchor 370 years ago. But instead of kicking back and relaxing, the Dutch couple are embarking on a journey of their own, they're collecting the perspectives from artists, writers, and historians on a controversial drawing of Tasman's violent encounter with Maori in the bay in 1642.
