Your Place - St Bathans

We head deep into the heart of Central Otago's Maniototo district to an old gold mining town originally called Dunstan Creek. At the height of the gold rush 2000 miners lived here, today the permanent population numbers just 6. Dunstan Creek still exists as a waterway that starts high in the Dunstan Mountains to the west and flows down into the Manuherika River that, in turn, flows into the Clutha at Alexandra.
