Topics - Researchers have connected noise to how food tastes. Associate professor Russell Keast and his team at Deakin University in Melbourne, has found that food on planes tastes bland because of the noise. They also discovered the louder the environment, the more suppressed certain flavour notes within food are. A private member's bill, banning gang insignia in public places is due to pass today. Gang members wearing patches or gang colours in places likes schools or swimming pools can face arrest or fines. Tuhoe activist Tame Iti is hoping to set up "no guns, no molotov cocktails, no spies" training camps in Te Urewera.
