Dunedin salmon hatchery

Dunedin is cementing its growing reputation as the salmon hatchery of the southern hemisphere. Two years ago, 15,000 young salmon were released into Otago harbour. This year the number will grow to 280,000. This success helped a member of the Dunedin Community Salmon Trust earn a gold medal at the New Zealand Master's Games - which are underway in the city - at the weekend.
