New Zealand military historian John Tonkin-Covell has contributed a chapter on Chunuk Bair, one of the most celebrated battles of the Gallipoli campaign, to the book Gallipoli : a ridge too far. He discusses VC winner Cyril Bassett and Lieutenant-Colonel William Malone who famously commanded the Wellington Infantry Battalion when it took Chunuk Bair, and was subsequently killed there.
