The Migrating Kitchen
Tea leaf salad anyone? The unusual combination of tea leaves and garlic make a delightful combination on the palate. It’s something that Burmese may take for granted as a part of their after-lunch tradition but something that New Zealand audiences will find a lovely surprise.
Telling refugee and migrant stories through food all started with a book titled Lift the Lid of the Cumin Jar. This evolved into a bi-annual touring exhibition called The Migrating Kitchen. Lynda is in Wellington trying the dishes and meeting the community, including little baby Lucy, a toddler with quite a story to tell.
