AT THE MOVIES #690 – FILM FESTIVAL PREVIEW
Simon Morris and Bill Gosden, the Director of the New Zealand International Film Festival, previews the 2017 season. The Festival opens in Auckland on July the 20th, in Wellington the following week, and then travels around the country for the rest of the year. Among the highlights are:
Cannes Grand Prix winner BPM - a French film about AIDS activists in the 1990s.
The beguiled - Sofia Coppola’s feminist twist on an old Clint Eastwood Civil War shocker. Staring Colin Farrell and Nicole Kidman.
And Gaylene Preston’s documentary about Helen Clark’s bid to be the first woman Secretary General of the United Nations - My year with Helen.
