AT THE MOVIES #854    HOW MANY PRODUCERS DOES IT TAKE?

Simon Morris reviews three films that seem to require a lot of producing – 40 in total.  They include a fake Iranian prisoner of war, a lamb who’s more than she seems and a documentary about one of the world’s most famous wildlife environmentalists.

Persian lessons is the story of a Jewish prisoner during World War Two, who escapes death by first, pretending to be Iranian and then, claiming he can teach a German officer to speak Farsi – a language he knows nothing about.

Lamb sees a lonely couple on an Icelandic farm find new hope when one of their sheep gives birth to an unusual lamb.  Stars Noomi Rapace (The girl with the dragon tattoo).

And Becoming Cousteau is a documentary about the life of the famous French oceanographer.  Directed by Liz Garbus (What happened, Miss Simone?)
