Temperatures plummet across New Zealand

It was 1.4 degrees Celcius in some parts of Auckland this morning - colder than Christchurch and Dunedin, but not as cold as Ranfurly and Middlemarch, which recorded the year's coldest temperature - at -6 degrees.
