The Health Minister is promising there will be big change in the mental health sector, on the back of the release of the 200-page mental health inquiry. But David Clark wasn't prepared to commit today to a suicide reduction target or changes to alcohol or drug laws. Those are just some of the 40 recommendations in the report, which paints a grim picture of the state of mental health and addiction in New Zealand.
