DoC receives more than $10m for security against increasing attacks

Last week's Budget allocated $10.7 million to the Department of Conservation over four years, explicitly for security purposes amid increasing threats and violence from anti-1080 protesters. While conservationists are welcoming efforts to keep staff safe, they say it's a shame taxpayer funds are being diverted away from key conservation work.
