Hong Kong is bracing for more mass protests over weekend as China warns it could use its power to quell demonstrations.
The warning come as President Donald Trump urged his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, to meet with the protesters to defuse weeks of tensions.
Dr Kenneth Chan is an associate professor of government and international studies at Hong Kong Baptist University and a former lawmaker in the Hong Kong legislature.
