New Zealand tourism operators are bracing themselves for a rise in so-called "flight shame" among travellers worried about their environmental impact.
Sustainability is the core focus of both the government and industry's tourism strategies released this year - and has been a hot topic at the annual Tourism Summit in Wellington.
And with tourists visiting Aotearoa often travelling great distances to get here, tourism leaders say they need to act now to consider how sustainable that is.
