A Christchurch couple who's part of a class action against the quake insurer Southern Response want the government to step in immediately and pay out claimants who they say were tricked into taking low settlements.
Colleen and Brendan Ross believe they were deceived into accepting a lower offer from the state owned insurer after discovering Southern Response kept secret from them a second much higher estimate to rebuild their damaged house.
Last month the High Court found in favour of another couple - the Dodds - who had been misled by Southern Response in a similar way.
Southern Response has until Friday to appeal the case. But the Rosses say enough is enough - they want an inquiry and the Crown to pay up.
