Tūranganui-a-Kiwa locals are celebrating the return of taonga - 250 years after they left Aotearoa shores on Captain Cook's Endeavour.
The 37 taonga have been returned on loan to Tairāwhiti museum - as a result of the hard work of iwi and Hei Kanohi Trust.
The return, albeit temporary, is being described as momentous.
