Hundreds of young people have swamped pop-up ballot boxes in Auckland to cast last minute votes in local government elections.
Organisers of a pop-up voting station at Auckland University had to extend the ballot booths, putting up extra tables and partitions before polls close tomorrow.
The city has by far the highest number of eligible voters - more than a million - but as of last night only about 30 percent had cast a vote.
By this time tomorrow, election organisers will know the preliminary results - including the final voter turnout.
