More border restrictions will be announced by the Prime Minister over the weekend as the number of cases of Covid-19 globally continues to rise.
There are now nearly 130,000 cases of the coronavirus around the world - with more than 4,700 deaths.
The majority of those are still in China, but the death tolls in Italy and Iran are also climbing.
Jacinda Ardern says the Covid-19 cabinet committee met late last night and agreed to extra controls, but there's more work to do on the finer details.
