The National Party has been derailed by yet another scandal, with the abrupt resignation of disgraced MP Andrew Falloon.
The news broke on Monday that he had quit Parliament at the election, after it was revealed he had sent an indecent picture to a 19-year-old woman.
But on Wednesday the pressure ramped up with at least two more women coming forward. In the morning he resigned effective immediately.
Not only has he lost his job as an MP, but is also facing a fresh police investigation. Police investigated a complaint from the 19-year-old in early July but it didn't meet the threshold for prosecution.
Now with the new allegations, the police are taking another look. RNZ political editor, Jane Patterson, filed this report.
