A staffer for former Prime Minister David Lange says in his time sexual activity was rife in Parliament and Iain-Lees Galloway is a victim of the current political climate.
Lees-Galloway's affair with a former staffer drew instant comparisons to Lange's extra-marital affair with his speechwriter Margaret Pope, whom he eventually married.
But Lange's former chief press secretary, Ross Vintiner, says flings are different.
