The former deputy Prime Minister Paula Bennett has given her parting speech to Parliament, sharing heartfelt anecdotes, all while showing her sense of humour.
Ms Bennett was one of three MPs who have given their valedictory speeches in the house today.
She announced she would not be seeking re-election last month, after her and Simon Birdges were rolled as leader and deputy.
Paula Bennett told the house that her husband Alan had been her rock during her time at Parliament. She also thanked her daughter and parents before moving on to her role as Minister of Social Development and Child Youth and Family.
Bennett finished her speech to a standing ovation on both sides of the House.
