Fruit and vegetable growers say visa extensions for temporary workers provide little to help the looming shortage of workers needed to pick crops come harvest time.
The government is allowing temporary work visa holders who have been stuck outside of the country due to Covid-19, back in.
As well as that, seasonal workers from the Pacific Islands who have been unable to leave, will be allowed to stay and work for another six months.
But growers say unless more seasonal workers are allowed into the country, there's a danger that crops will not be harvested.
