NZ's largest floating solar array catching the sun in Auckland

From Checkpoint, 6:22 pm on 2 October 2020

It's just under one hectare in size, captures the sun to produce electricity and floats on water.

New Zealand's largest and only floating solar array has officially opened in Auckland's Northshore Rosedale Waste Water treatment plant.

It will save $4.5 million in power a year as it is sourced from the sun, and reduce carbon emissions by 145 tonnes a year.

Checkpoint reporter Louise Ternouth and cameraman Simon Rogers were there for its opening.
