Woman escapes Auckland city isolation hotel by fire escape

An investigation is underway after a woman escaped managed isolation through a fire escape while security guards were quote "elsewhere".

The woman who arrived in New Zealand on a flight from Dubai on Wednesday October 7 was caught at 1am Friday trying to skip out of the Grand Millenium hotel in Auckland.

It was then revealed she'd sucessfully broken out the night before and spent about two hours wandering around the city.

The woman tested negative on Friday morning.
