Auckland's city centre economy suffered an estimated $10 million hit today, as workers heeded the government's call to stay home.
Auckland Tourism Events and Economic Development says that's the cost of closing the country's biggest city centre.
But relief is near - the CBD will re-open on Saturday and many weekend events can go ahead.
