Sam Cane capped his debut season as All Blacks captain with two honours at New Zealand Rugby's annual awards last night, taking out the overall player of the year as well as All Black of the year.
It's been a strange 2020 for the new skipper, from Covid-19 disruptions to being beaten by Australia, losing to Argentina for the first time, but still managing to win the Bledisloe Cup and Tri-Nations title.
The issue of head injuries is also back in the spotlight as former players continue to join a class-action lawsuit against World, England and Wales rugby, which alleges a failure to protect them from the risks caused by concussions.
Rugby reporter Joe Porter spoke to Cane about whether or not he feels World and New Zealand Rugby are doing enough to decrease the risk of head injuries and the flow on effects.
