Auckland will move to alert level 2 at 6am on Sunday, while the rest of the country will move to level 1.
Cabinet made the decision today, after a fifth day in a row of no new community cases.
Auckland's alert levels will be reviewed again at the end of the week, with the view to moving the region to level 1 next weekend.
